History related to painting
People love to paint walls of their houses with different designs and paints. Some people do it as hobby. It relaxes them and keeps them calm. Some people also paint for specific purposes. In the past all paintings were done for particular reason or location but now people use it to give a specific message to other people. Some people show their anger through them, some show the wrongdoings of those who have power upon other human being like kings, dictators and governors and they use it very rudely.
For some this a passion, others do it for livings. This job has different methods and techniques. It is vary in subjects, style, and sizes. There are lots of ancient buildings with painted walls, one can find a big wall painted with a story or a small part of wall painted with a design or portrait.
Artist use unique tools and material to paint. Lot of painting had been done with oil colors. Artist started using it in 15 century, and it gained popularity at that time because of it is versatile. In the past wood panels were used for moveable paintings. For oil painting color gets mixed with vegetable oil and it can create any image in any style and design. Before that a material named tempera was being used, in which colors get mixed in eggs rather than oil. This material was difficult to blend and hard to create images.
Two techniques which were popular in painting were frescos and watercolors. Frescos was to paint walls and ceilings, was being done before the plaster get dry, this technique was very difficult. On the other hand watercolor was used for small painting done on papers. Paint colors were made by different substance like clay rocks, ores metals and minerals.
In 20 century things changed. Painter started using new bright colors. 1940 was a time when a new type of paint was introduced which was called acrylic. This has all the quality of oil paint, but gets mixed with water and gets dry more quickly than oil.
Other than walls and wood painter did use glass silk stale and metal to paint on? Painting on silk is very popular in china. Today there are lots of unknown artist whose work one can see on outside walls of building with moral messages. History is full of artistic paintings which still have power to mesmerize people with artistic mind. Some pictures have an ability to describe the culture and way of living of people of the time when it has been painted. Artist who paint for living try to put the beauty of world and those scene which will be most appealing so that it will be easy to sell them.
