Charlie chaplin and comedy

Comedy started with 425 BCE, with the plays of Aristophanes who was an ancient Greek author. He wrote 40 comic plays but only 11 were able to touch fame. Satyr plays was the source from which he started his comedy. Those plays were very indecent according to that time. At that time it was comedy was created in lewd and vulgar songs.

Round about 335 BCE in poetic which was the work of Aristotle, was claimed that from the beginning this was not taken seriously, and for some it was difficult to understand. Yet it has its own charms. It gives something positive to society; it brings happiness and smile on other people’s faces. Aristotle also that it is forth genres of literature. Other three are tragedy, epic poetry, and lyrics poetry. According to him it starts with small and low character with some aimed and it ends with them getting their aim fulfilled.

Pantomime gained its present state in 19th century with humorous comedy and featured the first mainstream clown Joseph grimaldi, in British movie hall threat comedy become a routine and gained popularity in 1850s. it was the time when Charlie Chaplin performed in music halls among other comedians such as Stan Laurel and Dan Leno. They worked in fred karno’s sketched comedy which had no dialogue.

CHARLI CHAPLIN was the best comedian in silent era. His comedy is still popular. His most remembered characters are those in which he has played roll of sad tramp.

He was born in 1889 in London; he was born in poverty but gained success with his work. He appeared on stage in the age of 5 and in 1910 he went to America when he got some success as teenage actor, after four years of struggles he finally got his first film. His struggle and passion for his work made him the most desired actor in the history of cinema. After some time he started writing and directing his own plays and in 1919 he started his own film company with the coordination of some other stars and directors which was named united artists. In his most famous films he has played a roll of a tramp which bullied by powerful people. He had a small moustache, wearing baggy trousers, a bowler hat and carried a cane. He always was showed as a person who took side of poor and helpless people and he used to get away from bad people with his tricks.  He was the best actor of silent era and that continued even in 1920 when sound came into movies. Like some other actors he didn’t get any problem in working in movie which had dialogues. After some years he was banned in America because he was suspected for supporting communism. In 1972 he returned there to get a special Oscar award for his contributions in cinematic comedy. And after some years of that honor he died in 1977.
